It has become apparent that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is taking its toll on the lives of people, both emotionally and financially. As an essential service we offer face to face therapy in our rooms in Cork City.
We use a humanistic and integrative approach to therapy and do our utmost to get the best fit for each client and therapist.
We aim to support the client on your journey of change and progress in areas of your life that is presenting you with difficulties. Our goal is to meet your needs on your journey of self-discovery. Some of the initial issues clients present with are listed below.

A client may come to us with some of the above presenting issues and may have been previously been diagnosed by your Doctor or Consultant. It is essential to know that we offer support in such circumstances, however, our approach at all times in to focus on the client as a whole person and not as a person with a label. The therapeutic relationship we build with all our clients has at its core the philosophy that every person is a complete person who has a natural desire and drive to personally grow. We support and nurture such growth in a compassionate, understanding and emphatic approach through talk therapy.
IIt’s usual for clients to attend for one hour once a week until they feel that the empowerment and change they seek has gained momentum. After this is achieved sessions get spread out over two weeks, and then monthly until the client feels ready to stop therapy, having achieved their goals. At all times the client sets the time frame and decides what's the correct approach for them.

Face to Face counselling & Online Distance counselling.

We offer both face to face counselling as well as counselling over Zoom video link. There are advantages to both. Again it comes down to the particular needs and comfort level of the individual client. For some having counselling in the room with the counsellor is an essential element of the therapeutic process. As we are all different then some clients are very relaxed with their sessions happening in the comfort of their own home using a secure online connection. It is a personal preference choice.

Another option can be a blended approach between the two. A client may feel the need to begin counselling in the presence of the counsellor and when a good degree of trust is built up the client may feel happy to make the transition to online sessions. Similarly, some people may find it easier to begin therapy from their own home and after a few sessions take the step to come to the counsellor’s rooms and continue their sessions as face to face sessions.

We fully understand that going for any form of therapy can be daunting at first. Every therapist will have experienced that feeling themselves so they will know what it is like. Clients tell us that they had many questions and fears in their mind when first coming for counselling. Having received feedback from our clients we will address them above in our PDF brochure on what to expect from your first sessions.

You can also visit our FAQ's page for more information. Furthermore, we offer a download, explaining the differences and similarities of each therapeutic method we use which can help you decide what initial approach you feel would best fit you.
