The Counsellor maintains the belief that the client holds within themselves the answer to their current difficulties. That the client is a whole person and not defined, judged or labelled in any way based on their presenting situation. Counselling adopts the approach that the client is seeking a solution to the difficulties that they find themselves in and the counsellor facilitates this process of exploration and change to find solutions that are productive and lasting.
Counselling also provides a safe space with empathy for the client throughout their journey. The counsellor utilises all his or her skills in facilitating the client help themselves find meaningful change.
