Where are your rooms
We have private rooms available 5 days a week at Victoria Cross. We offer morning, afternoon and night appointments.
How do i book a session
Your first appointment is made over the phone after you have spoken to a therapist to ascertain that we can be of assistance to you. If you require another speciality we will be happy to recommend another service applicable to your needs if we can. Your therapist can book you in over the phone and at the end of each session, you can book your next appointment. If you wish the same time each week we suggest you book ahead for such times.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel an appointment by 11 am, the day before your appointment without incurring a cancellation fee. Cancellation without 24 hours notice incurs the full fee for the missed session as your therapist will be in attendance.
Payment Schedule
Payment is made in advance of your first session and subsequently at the time of your ongoing sessions.

Counselling Faq's
How long is a therapy session
A session lasts for up to one hour. Going longer than an hour can leave the client drained at the end of the session.
When should i begin therapy
When you feel ready in yourself. Also if your sleep, day to day living is being affected in a way that is impacting negatively on your life. If you find your mind is constantly ruminating about a troubling issue and you have a sense that all is not well and you need the help of more than a friend or family. We trust that you will in fact know yourself when is right for you even if the initial step may be daunting for you.
Do I need a referral
You can attend therapy at any stage yourself. The choice is completely yours. We regularly get referrals from G.P's, consultants and other health care professionals for clients, but people mostly self refer. We work equally well with both self referral and G.P. referral but confidentially is always kept between the client and therapist.
hOW CONFIDENTIAL IS WHAT I SAY
Confidentially between a therapist and the client is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. Your confidentially is absolutely assured at all times. This helps the client feel free to share his or her difficulties, knowing it is a secure, safe and confidential place to do so. Confidentiality is the bedrock of all therapy.
There are limits to confidentiality in a small number of areas. Exceptions are where the client presents as a danger to him or herself or to others. If the client declares a child is in danger then confidentially cannot be held in such situations. However its important to know that in such situations then the therapist will do their upmost to explore these issues with the client from the outset. Also, this situation very rarely occurs in our experience.

wILL I SEE THE SAME THERAPIST
Yes, you will always see the same therapist. We work from a therapeutic relationship standpoint and its utmost that a client gets to see the same therapist throughout their journey. A client may request to see a different therapist at any stage or needs may arise to change to another therapist who may have a specialised area of therapy that the client requests. It’s important that you know in the normal course of therapy you will always see the same therapist. There will never be the situation where you would be asked to see a different therapist unless it is for the benefit of the client.
hOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY
There is no specific answer to this. It will depend on the presenting issues the client brings. However to aid the client in getting a better idea of how long therapy will take we carry out regular reviews with the client. The therapist will check in with the client no longer than six sessions to review what progress is being achieved and a plan for going forward to the next review. It's important that a client understands the plan going forward.
hOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT
We operate 5 days a week and offer morning, afternoon and night sessions. Because of our extended opening hours, we will be able to see a client very quickly. Availability mainly depends on the client’s own availability and the demand for services at particular times. If you have a flexible schedule then we can see you very quickly.
Separating Couples mediation Faq's
What is the role of a mediator?
A mediator acts as a neutral third party to facilitate discussions between you and your partner, helping you reach mutual agreements. The mediator does not make decisions for you but supports you in finding solutions that work for both parties, focusing on fair and practical outcomes.
What are the legal implications of mediation?
Agreements made in mediation can be drafted into a Memorandum of Understanding and then converted into a legally binding contract or court order. This ensures that the decisions you reach have legal standing and are enforceable.
How are custody and parenting plans addressed?
In mediation, you will work together to develop a parenting plan that focuses on the best interests of your children. The mediator will help guide you through discussing custody arrangements, visitation schedules, and other parenting issues to ensure that the children's needs and welfare are prioritized.
How are property and assets divided?
The mediator will help you list all marital property and debts and discuss how they can be divided fairly. The division will take into account various factors like each person’s financial contribution, the duration of the marriage, and each party’s future needs. Mediation aims to reach an equitable division rather than an equal split.
How long will the mediation take?
The length of mediation depends on the complexity of your issues and how quickly you can come to agreements. Typically, mediation might take anywhere from a few sessions to several months. Each session usually lasts between one to two hours.
How much will mediation cost?
There is no specific answer to this. Costs vary depending on the complexities involved and the mediator’s rates, but mediation is generally a lot less expensive than going to court. You will be charged an hourly rate, and the total cost will depend on the number of sessions needed to resolve your issues.
What happens if we can't reach an agreement in mediation?
If mediation does not resolve all issues, you may choose to resolve remaining disagreements through your solicitors, or traditional court proceedings. The mediator can help you understand the options available and might refer you to other professionals if necessary.
